“Judge a tree from its fruit; not from the leaves.” Euripides (c. 480BC – 406BC) Whilst the majority of our modern
diets are seed based (wheat, corn, soy and rice), fruit has always shared a
special relationship with humankind. It was an apple that was the ‘forbidden
fruit’ of the Garden of Eden, grapes gave/give us one of our most celebrated
beverages, and the humble olive has provided sustenance for numerous
civilisations. This section of the TSH website is
dedicated to fruit. All types of fruit from Apples, Grapes, Olives, and Pears,
through to Mango, Papaya and Avocado. Here you will find descriptions and
growing notes for a range of different species. Enjoy! Note: If you have a favourite fruit, and it isn't mentioned below, then feel free to submit an article to TSH for inclusion. If you'd like to comment on any of the articles, then please use the link to the forums provided on each article so we can all share in each other’s knowledge. |
